Reasons To Believe
Greetings, I'm Robert Harris:
In the human body in each cell, some estimate that there are at least a billion units, which make up machines, transformers, relay stations and the very information and energy of life itself. In equivalency, that would be like twenty-five thousand knowledgeable books, two hundred and twenty-five pages each of information in each cell (over five million pages). Some even say that the human body daily communicates two hundred times more information than the entire Internet on any give day. Moreover, the human cell has the ability to divide, meaning it has the ability to copy each and every intricate part to make a new cell. Creation anyone?
All cells are largely self-maintaining: they can take in nutrients; convert nutrients into energy; carry out specialized functions; all have innate intelligence; and reproduce as necessary. Moreover, all human cells store their own set of instructions for carrying out each of these functions and activities. In fact, it is easily surmised that each cell has the equivalent of six to eight feet of DNA, and contain, as some estimate, three billion DNA letters making up the instructions of life. So each cell isn't made up of just chemicals, but again, chemicals that have intelligent instructions and understanding that put in order the how's of life. In retrospect of this information, one cell in the human body is more complicated structurally than many cities in the United States put together. Moreover, the typical human body has been estimated to have fifty trillion cells. Creation anyone?
Consider the nervous system. If every nerve in the human body was joined from end to end, the nerves would stretch at least sixty-thousand miles; the same with the cardiovascular system. In light of these facts, does one want scientific proof of God? That He exists? Or is everything just an accident, as taught widely in Darwin's Theory of Evolution?
Can a person see with their eyes, that is, nothing becoming something (Cosmological Argument, which is cause and effect)? Can a person win a hundred blackjack hands in a row? How about a thousand? What are the odds? How about a billion units in a cell? How about the DNA in each cell? The language of life in each cell? Are we not fearfully and wonderfully made, just as the Bible of old declares (Psa. 139:14)? And this, centuries before there ever was something called modern science taught in our universities!
The precision and exactness of every human cell coming from nothing? What are the odds? Would that premise make a sound bet?
Speaking of the human body, within the typical adult person we find at least 100,000 proteins, which are mostly made by the liver. The question that immediately comes to mind is, how did the liver ever get the knowledge to make these proteins? By the instructions of the brain, one might say? Then, how did the brain get its incredible knowledge in properly directing just one of the many organs found in the human body? And why does the brain think that the human body needs these many different proteins? Moreover, if this is a trial and error process, as Darwinism teaches, how did the human body ever function while learning these intricate life dependencies? Finally, why and how does the brain, no matter its development and education, have much more hidden knowledge than cognitive knowledge? Creation anyone?
Not to change the subject, how about the Earth being ninety-three million miles from the Sun, creating just the right temperatures for life? Just an accident? To further this line of thinking, how about the Earth in its orbit spins on its axis, enabling the seasons? The moon controlling the tides and influencing the weather? Are these also just accidents?
What about the unseen phenomena of gravity? Not only does the Earth have it, including our sun, not to mention millions of other galaxies in the Universe. Not so strangely, the Bible recorded that the Lord hangs the Earth on nothing, and this, at least 3500 years ago (Job 26:7), long before the institutions of modern education. Actually, all of the planets and the sun, including the Earth, couldn't survive without the laws of gravity in force, not to mention the Universe.
Now the ocean is the cleansing mechanism of the Earth, and the salt of the oceans does the cleansing. Pointedly, just the right amount of salt is in each ocean. Not to be redundant, is this also just an accidental coincidence? In fact, the oceans obtain their salt by the run-off of land waters, so if the Earth were actually older than 6000 years, the oceans would have have an intolerable amount of salt––killing all life. Creation anyone?
How about the fact that water itself has three components, namely two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen? Ironically, there is another part to water, but no one knows what it is, just like the Pyramids—four sides, yet three sides to each triangle-side. Of course, no living thing on this planet can survive without water. Jesus knew this, and that is why Christ said that He was the "water of life." And what about all matter? Is not all matter made up of atoms consisting of protons, neutrons and electrons, or even the absence of these? Is not the stamp of the Almighty upon all of Creation––the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Especially the components of the Universe—Time, Space and Matter?
Scientists today recognize that the Universe is ever expanding and finely tuned. Around 3500 hundred years ago it was written in the Bible that that Universe is stretched out (Job 9:8). In the Universe there are one hundred and twenty five million galaxies that we know of; that we can see. All in all, the stars are so numerous that we can’t count them. In fact, it has safely been estimated that there are 70,000,000,000,000,000,000 (seventy sextrillion), or six million stars for every person on planet Earth. Of course, again, this is only what we can see. Moreover, in the Universe we see significant mathematical precision––indeed, the heavens are like one big clock. If anyone has studied the work of Sir Isaac Newton, then they know that this fact is true. Moreover, the Second Law of Thermodynamics attests that the Universe had a beginning, and that order, not chaos, is the rule. Not so astonishingly, complex math is the language of the Universe––a miracle in itself. In weighing all of this information, we see that the Universe has rhyme and reason, and does not come from chaos. Fittingly, the Universe has an incomprehensible design. But this without a Designer? Creation anyone? Note: The atheist and agnostic can't begin to explain the many and various laws of the Universe, much less the laws of nature here on Earth. You see, undeniably there exists a great and wondrous design––but the atheist denies a Grand Designer.
Centuries before the modern microscope was ever invented, the writers of the New Testament (2000 years ago), tell us that the visible is made up of the invisible. Consider, then, the words of Apostle Paul, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse" (Rom. 1:20). And, "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. And he is before all things, and BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST" (Col. 1:15-17). Creation anyone?
Not to be redundant, but a new study indicates that Monarch Butterflies, in their annual migration, use a mini-GPS in their antennas to steer a proper course. Here lies just one example of literally thousands in nature showing the complexity of life, and a multitude of designs by which the proof of intelligence is more than than abundant in the creation of the Earth.
Oh the critic might say that the Earth and its components are millions, or even billions of years old, whereas the Bible only teaches a six thousand year Earth history. Wrong—that’s not the complete picture! The Bible clearly states, before the first day of creation described in chapter one of Genesis, that the Earth was without form and void (Gen. 1:2). Of course, the Bible doesn’t say how long the Earth was without form and void before the actual creation. So the elements of the Earth could be billions of years old, that is, by this very biblical account. In sum, we just don't know!
For fun, let's say that the Evolutionist's are right, that man came from ape; and that about 3.9 million years ago the first ape-man appeared. Then, about 1.5 million years ago man was fully man. No matter the use of what math, or even funny math, that would mean that the Earth's population today would have to be at least one person per square inch on this planet. Impossible!!!
Speaking of time, if millions of years can't create a beautiful building, what logic says that chaos, not order, can create life? And bring it to a super complex, intricate living organism, like the human cell? Like the human body? Again, this out of nothing? Creation anyone?
Now how can anyone believe a book that doesn't even mention dinosaurs? Well, do you know of an animal in today's world that has a tail the size of a tree trunk? In times past, the Bible talks about Behemoth in Job 40:15-24, detailing this incredible animal with the tail the size of a cedar tree. (95' tall is a conservative estimate of the Cedar tree.) According to some biblical scholars, Behemoth existed before the worldwide flood. Check out the truth about dinosaurs. http:/www.creation.com/dinosaur-questions-and-answers
It takes much more faith to believe that a Creator God doesn't exist, rather than to believe that He does exist. Case in point: Does nothing evolve into something? Right before our eyes? Is there any evidence anywhere of such a thing? In sum, again, it takes much more faith to believe that after this life there is nothing, as Darwin's Theory of Evolution teaches, rather than to believe in the promise of eternal life for the saints given by Jesus Christ. Simply, the Bible, which is foundational, has the promises and proven accurate prophesies of the coming Messiah that are centuries old. Not only that, in archaeology the Bible has been shown to be flawless in hundreds, if not thousands of recorded instances.
Evolutionists believe that it rained millions upon millions of years as the oceans were forming. This rain on the rocks eventually became the soup of the oceans. So to cut to the chase, Evolutionists believe that we, the human race, evolved from rocks. And they have the gall to call faith in an intelligent Designer a fairy tale?
Alarmingly, science is telling us that the Earth's magnetic shield is getting weaker and weaker in places, which means that ever increasing amount of radiation travels through our atmosphere, reaching the planet. In other words, the stage is all but set; men in the Tribulation will blaspheme God because they were scorched by the sun (Rev. 16:8-9). Surely time is running out, so how is your heart? “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring ; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:25-26).
Indeed, fish and birds are dying in droves all over the world. Are we getting closer? The Bible teaches that deep into the Tribulation, which is the night segment of the Day of the Lord before it dawns (2 Pet. 1:19), that every island fled away (Rev. 16:20). Will it be true? Will the waves and seas be roaring? And men's hearts failing them for things that are coming on the Earth? If the North and South Pole magnetic fields shift, there would be tsunamis worldwide, causing unforeseen and unimagined catastrophes. Is it time to consider the creation as a real possibility? Is it time to seek God through His Son, Jesus Christ before the judgment? Is it time to be totally right with the Lord by faith alone—His provision?
Personally, I've found no contradictions in the Bible, especially in the Bible's many predictions of the future; such as centuries later, Israel becoming a nation again, as foretold over and over by the prophets (Duet. 4:27, 31; Lev. 26:33, 44; Isa.66:8-9; Jer. 23:3; Ezek. 36:24-28, 37:11-14; Rom. 11:25-26.); that Christ's message of faith, the saving Gospel of the Kingdom, would go through out all the world as foretold centuries ago (Isa. 61:1-5; Matt. 24:14; Mark 13:10); that many in the future would come in His name, deceiving many (Luke 21:8); that knowledge and extreme wickedness would dramatically increase (Dan. 12:4; 2 Tim. 3:1-5).
The Messiah lineage was recorded in the Bible in diverse places. Here are a few: (Gen. 3:15, 22, 49:8-12; Isa. 11:1; Jer. 23:5 Numbers 24:17). In sync, the Messiah would be a king (Isa. 9:7, Dan. 7:14; Zech. 6:12-13, 9:9); He would be a priest (Psa. 110:4, Zech. 6:13); He would be a light to the Gentiles that they trust (Isa. 11:10, 49:6, 62:2; Jer. 16:19); He would bring judgment to the Gentiles (Isa. 42:1; John 5:39); His ministry would be at a particular and identifiable time in history (Dan. 9:26).
On the following points the prophets agree, that Messiah will be God Almighty in human flesh; that He would become a man (Isa. 7:14, 9:6; 43:11 compared with Luke 2:11); that He was from eternity (Micah 5:2); that He would be rejected by the Jews (Isa. 53:1-3); that He would die for our transgressions having His hands pierced (Psa. 22:16; Isa. 53:9, 12; Dan. 9:26); that He would rise again from the grave (Psa. 16:10); that God anointed God in the flesh (Psa. 2:3, 110.1; Luke 1:35, 2:11; Heb. 1:6-9); that this Messiah-Son described in the Old Testament, is to be to be worshiped––lest the Son’s coming wrath makes one perish in the way (Psa. 2:12). Note: Only the Jesus Christ of history has fulfilled all these requirements, promises and prophecies. And this is one reason why eight of Jesus' disciples, and also four early noted Christians willingly suffered martyrdom, preferring death to that of denying their faith in Christ. Naturally, no one dies for the propagation of a lie, including these twelve eye witnesses of the Lord and His ministry who kept the faith: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Peter, Andrew, Thomas, Matthias, Bartholomew, James the Greater, Barnabas, Paul, Jude and James the brothers of Jesus.
Now there is one sure way to prove the existence of God. And that is to keep His love commandments of the New Testament, for the Lord Jesus promises that He will reveal Himself to any person who loves others with His inner love derived from the Christian faith (John 14:21). Jesus also put the challenge this way: "Knock and it shall be opened unto you; seek and you shall find; ask and it shall be given you" (Matt. 7:7). Why not take Him up on His challenges? Why not taste and see that the Lord is good (Psa. 34:8). Surely a person shall find the Lord when they search for Him with all their heart (Pro. 8:17; Jer. 29:13). After all, the Lord is not willing that anyone should perish (2 Pet. 3:9), for He came to save the world, not condemn the world (John 12:47).
Why belief? Why faith? Did you know that without a blood sacrifice God won't accept you. In Scripture, the Lord accepted Abel's blood sacrifice, the firstlings of his flock (a lamb), but rejected Cain's gift of produce from his fields (Gen. 4:3-7). Indeed, our God who is holy, demands a blood-death sacrifice. And that's the good news, for He has supplied the blood-death sacrifice for us in the person of Jesus Christ, who is really Himself––God Almighty in human flesh. Surely the Just shall live by faith (Gen. 15:6; Hab. 2:4; Rom. 1:17), and they will learn to trust Him in all of their doings. And this is the reason for faith; that faith itself may grow within us––thereby substantiating the existence of a personal, loving and caring God; to us who believe––a Father. That we may know in whom we've believed (2 Tim. 1:12)! Indeed, we are to cast all our care upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Pet. 5:7).
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? (Pro. 30:4)! In the Bible God Almighty became a man––His name is Jesus Christ (Isa. 7:14, 9:6; Col. 1:15-17; Rev. 1:8). This was prophesied by many prophets over the centuries. By belief, or rather simple trust in His sacrifice and person, Jesus Christ offers eternal life by faith to anyone who believes (the shedding of His blood, and the resurrection––John 3:16; Eph. 2:13, Rom. 10:9-10). That in a nut shell is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is His death, burial and resurrection, and all just for you, that is, if you will receive it; if you will believe it (1 Cor. 15:3-4). Now does anyone have a better deal? Does anyone have a contract with some other entity that guarantees eternal life?
Concerning the deity of Christ, no wonder the Psalmist wrote, “Kiss the Son (Hebrew: worship), lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little . . .” (Psa. 2:12). Whose wrath? The Son’s wrath! Inappropriate as it may seem, to know the Lord is to eat His body and to drink His blood (John 6:53). By so partaking of faith, Christ is within, not without (Eph. 3:16, 17, 19; 1 John 3:9). In clearer terms, this is to know the faith that brings Christ’s power to love (1 John 4:8), for God Himself as the Spirit of Christ, who is love, indwells us (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16). Speaking of this one Spirit, we find that the Father indwells the Christian (Eph. 4:6); the Son indwells the Christian (Col. 1:27); and the Holy Spirit indwells the Christian (1 Cor. 6:19)—ONE SPIRIT. Aptly, John wrote, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” For He is the Holy Spirit, or the ONE SPIRIT whom we have to deal: “For through him we both have access by ONE SPIRIT unto the Father” (Eph. 2:18).

If you have prayer requests, or want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, by all means do so and tell us. A simple example prayer would be as follows: "Father, I accept Jesus Christ fully as my Lord and Savior; and the complete righteousness of God provided by faith, a new beginning. Please forgive all my sins against you and others. Help me taste and see that the Lord is good, just as your Word says. Indeed, make me clean and fresh; wash me from head to toe—and help me learn of you. And Lord, most important of all—grow within me. Thank you Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ."
Be sure to look up all the prophecies of the Messiah in the Old Testament. (http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/prophchr.html)

The Psalms and the book of Isaiah (written 700 years BC & 1500 years BC) are word for word, and they are as old and precise as biblical scholars have claimed. We now have proof of this because of the Dead Sea Scrolls discovery, a separate entity from the Bible. For the record, the Bible was written over a span of 1500 years and by at least forty authors.
As many times as you refresh the page, a new Scripture will appear.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
PS Remember that "It is impossible to please God without faith, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Heb. 11:6). By the way, the Lord doesn't mind revealing and confirming His omnipotent existence to those who really believe!
